Gifted and twice-exceptional individuals flourish when their unique abilities and learning styles are embraced. Understanding their asynchronous development is key to creating meaningful connections and a sense of belonging. It is also vital to equip parents and caregivers with the right information and resources to support these exceptional individuals. Despite the challenges they face, gifted youth have remarkable capabilities. With proper support, they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Having personally experienced the challenges gifted children face when their needs aren't met, I understand the profound impact it can have on their adult lives. Unaddressed needs can lead to anxiety, feelings of isolation, imposter syndrome, and a sense of not belonging, to name a few. Drawing from my own experiences, I am dedicated to supporting adults who grapple with these issues, offering guidance to navigate feelings of isolation and embrace their uniqueness.

My life has been closely connected with gifted and twice-exceptional individuals, including myself and my immediate family. This personal experience has deepened my understanding of the emotional, behavioural, and educational challenges they face. However, my expertise also extends to working with individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD, ASD, trauma, and PTSD. My mission is to create a safe, supportive environment where individuals, families, and children can express themselves openly, build relationships, and develop coping mechanisms for various obstacles. Recognizing each individual's uniqueness, I strive to provide tailored tools and evidence-based therapies to meet their specific needs. Additionally, I guide families, empowering them with insights into the unique needs of exceptional children and practical strategies for their development at home.

My journey, from the Royal Australian Airforce to roles in mining, accounting, and owning my own business, culminated in education, where I earned a Master's in Gifted Education, a Master's in Educational Psychology, and an advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy. These experiences have provided me with diverse insights. I've also pursued certifications in areas such as ADHD, ASD, counselling, dialectical behavior therapy, neuro-linguistic programming, hypnotherapy, and cognitive behavior therapy. My extensive knowledge includes PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and executive functioning. where I specialise in helping individuals develop crucial coping skills. To further enhance my services, I am currently exploring neuroscience in my spare time.

I am passionate about my work, serving as a Director for the Australian Association for the Education of the Gifted and Talented (AAEGT) and as a committee member for Gifted WA. I am also a proud member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

My journey has been shaped by being gifted and the unique challenges that come with it. As a twice-exceptional (2E) individual, I'm blessed with exceptional intellectual abilities alongside hurdles such ADHD and dysgraphia, which have added layers of complexity to my experiences.

Early on, my insatiable curiosity and keen understanding of human behavior were evident. However, navigating the educational system proved to be an uphill battle due to the lack of tailored support for 2E individuals. Nevertheless, my resilience and unwavering passion for learning kept me moving forward.

Currently immersed in my psychology degree at university, I'm deeply committed to unraveling the intricacies of the human mind. My personal journey significantly influences my academic pursuits, igniting a desire to bridge the gap between psychological theory and practical support for individuals like myself.

While still a psychology student, I've ventured into counseling, accumulating credentials that showcase my dedication to applying knowledge in a hands-on manner. Engaging in counseling sessions allows me to offer empathetic support and guidance, drawing from both my academic expertise and personal journey to assist those facing similar challenges.

My aspirations extend beyond academic success; I aim to make substantial contributions to the field of psychology. Advocating for more inclusive and supportive frameworks for gifed and 2E individuals within educational and psychological spheres is a key focus. My determination, empathy, and profound understanding of the human psyche drive me to be a beacon of hope and guidance for those navigating similar paths.
